Abstract

Removal of two of the most prominent errors, the schulering and the earth rate errors, arising in an inertial navigation system are studied by means of Kalman filtering. These errors are modeled by a combination of two coupled oscillators subjected to additive noise, by using the state variables method (contrary to the approach used in literature using mechanization equations).
