Insomnia is a sleep disorder highly prevalent, especially among older adults, and it is associated with cognitive impairment, increased risk for falls, depression, decreased quality of life, and increased healthcare utilization. Good quality sleep is essential for good health and quality of life. There is ample evidence that supports the use of behavioral interventions as a primary treatment for insomnia. This evidence-based poster supports the implementation of current guidelines that recommend the use of cognitive behavioral therapy to treat insomnia in older adults.en_US
