Quality improvement of tests in Introduction to Business using the item analysis technique

This study has consisted of making an item analysis of four old departmental tests in Introduction to Business and four new improved tests in Intorduction to Business, given to freshman students at the University of Houston. The old departmental tests were given in the Spring semester of 1957; the new improved tests were given in the Fall semester of 1957. A statistical analysis of the items in each of four different tests was made in order to select valid items of varying difficulty to be included in the new improved tests. The same procedure was then applied to the new improved tests in order to have data which could be used for a comparative study between the old and the new tests.
