Abstract
The two steroids, [delta]⁵-9,ll-seco7gorgostene-3[beta],ll-diol-9-one and 5[alpha],6[alpha]-epoxy-9,ll-seco-gorgostan-3[beta],ll-diol-9-one, possess a trisubstituted cyclopropane ring in the side chain similar to gorgosterol and acanthasterol. The 1H-nmr spectra of all of these compounds showed the presence of an extra proton due to unusual high shielding.
