Four phages of Proteus mirabilis were isolated. Three of these phages, Pl, P3, and P6 were further characterized on the basis of plaque morphology, host range, serology, adsorption, latent period, burst sizes, thermal inactivation and pH stability. On the basis of serology, Pl, P3, and P6 were considered closely related and are considered to be one group. Host range, plaque size, serology, and thermal stability served to differentiate the three phages from one another.
