dc.description.abstractThis thesis describes all conceptual aspects related to the design of a microprocessor based data acquisition and control system built for use in a thermal energy conservation study at the University of Houston. A comprehensive description of the system requirements, functional design, software organization, and hardware architecture is presented. In addition, a system performance evaluation and improvement recommendations based on three months of continuous operation are also discussed.
