dc.description.abstract | Vitamin D plays a vital role in the immune status of an individual. Various immune cells in the human body contain vitamin D receptors and vitamin D metabolizing enzymes. Respiratory tract infections (RTIs) are a major cause of mortality and morbidity globally. This evidence-based project explores the use of vitamin D supplementation in decreasing respiratory infections in African American adults 60 years and older. | en_US |
