Absorption of L-valine and D-glucose by the midgut gland of the shrimp, Penaeus aztecus

An in vitro tissue accumulation technique was used to study the absorption of L-valine and D-glucose by the midgut gland of the shrimp, Penaeus aztecus. Evidence was found for the active transport of L-valine but not for D-glucose.
