The centrifugally induced electric field within a rotating metallic sphere is considered by utilizing the correspondence of gravitational acceleration to centrifugal acceleration. We consider a spherical rotor placed in an inhomogeneous electric field specially arranged to support the weight of the sphere. The torque on the rotor due to all electrical interactions is determined. From the magnitude of the resulting precession we may predict the value of the rotationally induced electric field. [...]
