This poster explored the effects of upright birthing positions on maternal outcomes such as the length of labor, the pelvic outlet dimension, the rate of assisted deliveries, and the rate of episiotomies. We identified that there was a decrease in the length of the first and second stages of labor, the rate of assisted deliveries, and the rate of episiotomies. There was also an increase in the pelvic outlet dimension. Nurses should educate low risk mothers about different birthing positions.en_US
