Richard, Bennett Hubbard, was born in Walton County, Georgia, in 1834. He received, his B. A. Degree from Mercer College and his LL. B. from Harvard. In 1853 he moved to Tyler, Texas, where he established a law practice. In 1856 he was appointed to the position of District Attorney for the Western District in Texas.
