Item The influence of magnetic fields on the thermal conductivity of nitrogen at low temperatures(1970) Vevai, Jehangir Erach; Honeywell, Wallace I.; Hildebrandt, Alvin F.A concentric cylinder type of thermal conductivity apparatus with small "end effects" was designed, constructed and used to measure the effect of magnetic fields on the thermal conductivity of nitrogen gas at 78[degrees]K. [...]Item The temperature dependence of the thermal conductivity Senftleben-Beenakker effect for N[subscript 2], CO & CH[subscript 4](1973) Vevai, Jehangir Erach; Honeywell, Wallace I.; Dukler, A. E.; Wood, Lowell T.; Worley, Frank L., Jr.When a temperature gradient is impressed upon a dilute polyatomic gas, a polarization occurs in the molecular velocity space, angular momentum space, and in spaces composed of their various combinations. The temperature dependence of two such polarizations is experimentally obtained in this work in terms of their corresponding collision cross sections; σ(1200/1200) and σ(1001/1200). This is accomplished by studying the effect of strong and uniform magnetic fields on the thermal conductivity of N2, CO, CH4 and NO over the temperature range of 79°K to 309°K. [...]
