This is an oral history interview with Devani Salinas conducted as part of the Hurricane Harvey Oral History Project. Ms. Devani Sainas was interviewed on April 1, 2018, at my home in Channelview, TX. She experienced Hurricane Harvey but was not personally affected by the damage that came with the natural disaster. In this interview, she explains her past experience with hurricanes, her thoughts about Hurricane Harvey, and her involvement with the Houston community. This interview depicts the non-damaged side of the disastrous events that came during and after the hurricane, while some of the experiences Ms. Salinas had when volunteering in one of the shelters provided for those who were rescued.en_US
