Representative Particle Size Distribution Analysis from Thin Section Images of Uncosolidated Sands
MetadataShow full item record
Determining particle size in sedimentary reservoirs is important. Particle size determines permeability in clastic reservoirs. Particle size distributions are necessary input for sand control in unconsolidated and slightly consolidated sand reservoirs. In consolidated sands, the only way to measure the particle size distribution is in 2D (thin section). This study investigates the influence of thin section orientation on the resulting particle size distribution measurement.
