Theoretically, the multiple scattering theory of Moliere has been modified to account for observations made with magnetic spectrometers. Experimentally, 8000 muon events have been analyzed in the momentum region 2.5 GeV/c to 200 GeV/c for a target thickness of one meter of iron. Good agreement is found between the theoretical and experimental results.application/pdfenThis item is protected by copyright but is made available here under a claim of fair use (17 U.S.C. ยง107) for non-profit research and educational purposes.
