In the current political climate shaped largely by the media in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks, Latino immigrants, as well as citizens, have come under intense scrutiny in American media. Countering dominant and stereotypic trends in the mainstream media, a new television format is allowing minorities, Latinos in particular, a place in the televisual environment. Reality television is becoming a staple on major television networks and may be a pedagogical resource in advancing intercultural interaction.application/pdfengThe author of this work is the copyright owner.
