Discovery of massive sterile neutrinos could lead to advances in modern particle physics, possible dark matter candidate. Current searches for the most favored dark matter candidates, WIMPs1, have been less than fruitful. Full detector includes two spectrometers and an MOT2 atom trap source. Our task was to optimize the X-ray detectors. The X-ray detectors detect the energy and momentum of emitted x-rays and act as triggers for other detectors. We see that most of the initial photons are detected well within 1 nanosecond, which is needed to use the X-ray detectors as triggers for the other detectors. Position reconstruction of, on average, 1mm although with better reconstruction algorithms we expect improvement.en-USThe author of this work is the copyright owner.
