Essential features of the fluidized bed DTA apparatus include a fluidized bed heat bath, fluidized DTA cells and a standard DTA unit for temperature programming and measurement. A number of DTA curves for the dehydration of calcium oxalate monohydrate were obtained with the equipment. In these experiments nitrogen was used to fluidize mixtures of the reactant oxalate and inert aluminum oxide.
