dc.description.abstractOn average, 130 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose. From 1999 to 2016, more than 200,000 people died in the U.S. from overdoses related to prescription opioids (CDC, 2017). Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) is an electronic database that tracks controlled substance prescriptions in a state. This EBP project focuses of the utilization of Prescription Drugs Monitoring Programs (PDMP) to decrease overdose deaths related to prescription Opioid abuse.en_US
