Abstract

  1. Purpose of This Investigation. The primary objective of this study is to develop the curriculum needs of the senior high school pupils of Galveston in order to offer a curriculum in keeping with these needs for those pupils who will attend the new senior high school presently under construction. 2. Procedures and Sources of Data. Numerous books, bulletins, reports and investigations in the field of curriculum development were surveyed and analyzed. A history of the Ball High School curriculum with regards to course offerings was made. A study of the socio-economic culture of Galveston was made and analyzed. A questionnaire was selected and administered to the high school seniors, the parents of these seniors, and the teachers of Ball High School. These questionnaires were scored, tabulated and analyzed. Curriculum implications were derived from the socioeconomic background of Galveston and the returns from the questionnaires administered to the parents, pupils and teachers. [...]
