Abstract
This thesis depicts some of the major ethical issues confronting the discipline of Sociology. The analysis endeavors to ascertain the nature and complexity of these issues in terms of their relevance to the creation of a "meaningful" sociology. Finally, it is postulated that the reorientation of the discipline can only occur after the discovery and attainment of certain pre-conditions both in the discipline and the larger social milieu.
