Abstract

This is an oral history interview with Shawn Kang conducted as part of the Houston Hurricane Harvey Oral History Project. Mr. Shawn Kang was interviewed on March 30, 2018, at his house in Sugar Land, Texas. During the interview, he explained his living area and community, also shared his experiences and feelings when the flood water invaded his house. In addition, he used his knowledge to analyze the housing situation including pricing and rentals after the Hurricane Harvey, since his mother is a real estate agent. This interview not only reflects how people react and think during the hurricane but also shows how the hurricane affected people’s houses and their thoughts and actions upon the situation.
