The Impact of Sanctions on Bilateral Trade between Russia and Non-Sanctioning Countries

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has prompted many countries in the West to denounce and sanction Russia for its actions. While the sanctions placed on Russia are some of the most comprehensive seen in recent history, there are still many countries that have decided to not sanction Russia. This research poster looks at how sanctions have affected bilateral trade relations between Russia and non-sanctioning countries. Using UN COMTRADE data on Russia's trade relations with Brazil, China, Egypt, India, and Uzbekistan the poster analyzes the impact previous sanctions have had on Russia's trade relations with these countries.
