Abstract
LIGO (The Laser Interferometer Gravitation-Wave Observatory) was designed to search for gravitational waves. It is the most sensitive instrument created by man, able to detect distortions of 10^-18 m, which is roughly one-thousandth the diameter of a proton. But because this sensitive instrument is located on Earth, it is subjected to various vibrations caused by micro seismic waves and anthropogenic sources (traffic, construction, power, etc.).
