Abstract

Washington County is composed of thirty common school districts which limit their instruction to grades one through eight. Brenham Independent School District feels that since these districts pay no tax for the education of their scholastics in high school, they have carried this burden through the years at a financial loss. It is the purpose in this investigation to study each district with a lay committee and make some sound recommendations to the County School Board for the reorganization of the schools in Washington County.
