The secondary objective was to use these data to evaluate the pre-service education of teachers at The University of Houston in relation to the immediate services being rendered. The ultimate objectives were to make available data that would merit the continued study and consideration of future needs for: (1) the pre-service education of teachers at The University of Houston as revealed by a survey of the literature in the field of teacher education, and the survey of the opinions of selected students and graduates and (2) the in-service education of teachers at The University of Houston as revealed by a survey of the literature in the field of teacher education, and the survey of the opinions of selected students and graduates.
