Throughout the history of Hispanic culture, the upholding of a patriarchal order encompasses the center of all power, teaching the value of consequent domination. Patriarchal order is a relation of gender-based inequality, that mandates men to function against two contrasting idea-loyalty to the people or to the rule of masculinity. The masculine mandate thus ensues the battle of femininity, wherein power imbalances become normality. Normalizing physical aggression, dominance, and inequality consequently ensures its continuation as it bleeds into everyday relationships. The patriarchal encroachment encompasses the rise of domestic violence and machismo culture in Hispanic domains. Ultimately, the grassroots of Hispanic culture falsified an equation of power with masculinity, and violence with devotion.
