dc.description.abstractTo examine the efficacy of the SMART program for the 2022 - 2023 academic year, we employed a survey and per-assessment examination to determine student personal and academic confidence on the STAAR exam. STAAR scores in HISD have been steadily declining over the past few years and educational disparities due to race are highly prevalent. Thus, results of the study may highlight the effects of the SMART program on student confidence to bridge these gaps in education.
