Abstract

This is the study of the analysis and design associated with drill hole re-entry for providing a control scheme for positioning the drill string over the landing base. The positioning method considered is a string nozzle water jet system using thrust modulation and drill string rotation for thrust vectoring. In this study the control systems are designed for rotating mechanisms for guidance of the drill string (Part I) and for the speed control of mud pumps (Part II) to control the flow of fluid through nozzle and therefore the thrust for positioning the drill string over the landing base.
