Abstract

A direct-reading densitometer for measuring optical density is designed. It applies an integral equation theory so that no logarithmic amplifier is needed. Two light channels are used to compensate the temperature effect. The thesis includes the description of the theory, some discussions of the characteristics of the LED and the photodarlington, and the circuit design.
