Abstract

The Problem. This experimentation had two purposes. First, this investigation ascertained if, the longer the recovered male or female alcoholic's interval of abstinence (independent variable), the more Positive are the adjustments that he or she makes in the areas of Personality structure, cognitive orientation, and interpersonal relationships (dependent variables). Second, this study examined two methods of treatment (independent variables) with the intent of determining whether the positive adjustments made by recovered male and female alcoholics in the three named areas (dependent variables) are related to either of the therapeutic procedures to a greater degree.
