Abstract

The purpose of this investigation was to understand some aspects of the chemical behavior of H2NBH2 through its reaction with cis-cyclooctene. The reaction was run in two different ways. In the first, the cyclooctene was held at reflux temperature until the thermal decomposition of H3NBH3 had taken place. In the second, the reaction mixture was held at lOO[degrees]C and ultrasonic irradiation was used to initiate and promote the reaction between the two starting materials. In both cases, the reaction was repeated under different conditions, such as reaction ratios, temperature, and times, so as to determine the optimum conditions in the study of the two methods. [...]
