Abstract

One approach to the analysis and synthesis of a linear control system is the parameter plane method. Parameter mapping is advantageously applied to the design of linear control systems. The Chebyshev function is used in applying the mapping procedure to the characteristic equation in terms of a constant relative damping coefficient. By the use of Parseval's Theorem, the integral square error can be evaluated. The constant curve of the integral square error is also plotted in the parameter plane. This graphical method will allow the designer to chose the system parameters suitable to the stability constraints and the integral square error.
