Abstract

A new approach for on-line mass analysis of liquid chromatography (LC) eluate by either laser desorption (LD) or ion desorption (ion impact, secondary ion mass spectrometry, SIMS ) has been developed. This method uses a rotating carbon steel belt transport interface to deliver samples into the ionization source. A thermospray vaporizer is used to deposit LC effluent onto the belt.
