Predictors of teacher turnover

Purpose. The withdrawal of valued classroom teachers from jobs in public school systems has generated a fresh look at the problem of voluntary teacher turnover. Efforts to explain the exodus by dissatisfaction with factors within the job environment have not helped to solve the problem. An approach utilizing the individual psychological process that occurs in sequence reflecting attitudes, intentions and behavior was followed in this research.
