Abstract

This thesis presents the computerized analysis of an industrial multi-component microbial waste water process. A step-wise multiple regression approach was used to determine the variables to include in a prediction equation. Instead of including all the independent variables, the equation used was that at which the standard error of estimate no longer decreased or at which additional variables were no longer termed "significant" by the F test. The predictive model is discussed and compared to conventional techniques for design and operation.
