Abstract

The purpose of this fourteen week study was to investigate, through statistical analysis, the reaction of selected fifth-grade pupils to the application of procedures designed to increase rate of reading. Two major questions were considered: 1. Can the rate of reading of fifth-grade pupils be increased by applying selected teaching procedures? 2. How will these teaching procedures influence the comprehension level of the pupils involved?
