Abstract
Gj0nnes' Theory of multiple electron scattering is an important contribution to the scattering problem in thin films. In this theory the first order scattering cross section is expanded as the sum of Legendre functions. The higher order scattering terms are then obtained through the convolution integral of lower order scattering cross sections. The measured scattering intensity has been derived from the asymtotic form of the n[raised th] order scattering intensity. It has also been demonstrated that the first order scattering intensity can be calculated from the measured scattering intensity. Preliminary application to multiple scattering in thin germanium films has been made.
