Abstract

The methane oxidation as well as the methane oxidation inhibition reaction mechanisms have been studied extensively. A comparative study was made for the OH, CH, C2 and 0 radical profiles in a 1 atm fuel rich flame to which traces of various halogen inhibitors were added. Resonance fluorescence was used to monitor the concentrations of the OH, CH and C2 ground state radicals. The 0 radical concentration was measured by the CO titration method. [...]
