Abstract

This project sought to prototype an app that would allow people-groups’ significant events to be permanently recorded for all to view, to help better understand how to mitigate censorship and the data rot due to incidental hardware, policy, and link failures. As an app, this project will provide academia and the general public a way to better understand people-groups throughout history and see how their defining events affected them and those around, shaping history and our world in the process. As a practice in better understanding how to fight intentional censorship and data rot due to incidental failures, this project moves the needle forward in documenting the path towards a distributed and people-first future.
