dc.description.abstract3D seismic surveying demands dealing with vastly increased volume of seismic data for the interpreter. Computer aided seismic interpretation offers a rational way for the interpreter to manipulate the 3D seismic data. Horizontal slices through a seismic data volume have unique properties and structural information from them is fast, convenient and effective. The software developed for this thesis allows the interpreter to observe a number of such horizontal sections from the data volume. Features to display section of the whole time slice, scroll the display, highlight a particular time slice, zoom a particular area of interest and tilt the image are developed.
