Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of a prescribed reading experience on locus of control for gifted and non-gifted students. The major purpose of this study was to ascertain the degree of change in perceived locus of control as a result of a prescribed reading experience of gifted and non-gifted students. This introduction will discuss the importance of reading as a major life influence; in particular as an influence on the perceived locus of control of identified gifted students.
