Abstract

The antimicrobial activity of several phenolic compounds on Staphylococcus aureus was found to be altered in the presence of disaccharides, hexoses and pentose. The maximum absorption of these phenols in the presence of the same carbohydrates reflects the sensitivity pattern of Staph, aureus as tested biologically. [...]
