This study was made with two purposes in view. The first purpose was to investigate the opinions and attitudes of teachers of secondary mathematics, secondary school administrators and college professors of mathematics, concerning an adequate preparation of teachers of mathematics in the secondary schools of Texas, The second purpose was to study and evaluate all of the data gathered in order to draw up a program which might suggest ways and means of imparting to prospective teachers of secondary mathematics the preparation they need. Information was obtained by means of questionnaires sent to three hundred teachers of secondary mathematics and two hundred secondary school administrators and college professors. One hundred fifty-one teachers, sixty-five administrators, and thirty-five college professors responded.
