Abstract

Purpose. Three purposes were identified for this study: first, to determine if a relationship exists between the leadership behavior of community college deans of instruction and job satisfaction of division/department chairpersons; second, to determine if there exists a difference between the leadership behavior of deans of instruction as perceived by the deans of instruction, the college presidents, and the division/department chairpersons; third, to determine if there is a difference between the job satisfaction results of a study by Dr. C. H. Sumrail (1976) of Texas teachers and the job satisfaction results of this study on Texas community college division/department chairpersons. [...]
