Abstract
There was an expansion of post-secondary level enrollment in Latin America during the last two decades. Then, teacher training became a priority issue in the region. Statement of the Problem. Therefore, the purpose of this study was: 1) To determine differences and similarities in the training programs for university faculty in Latin America. 2) To establish the degree of congruity between the goal and objectives and the programs and the programs and content of the courses that are offered. 3) To determine the degree to which the university teacher participates in the definition of goals and objectives of the training programs offered to university faculty. 4) To establish the degree to which the results of educational research are used in the design of programs and their content.
