Abstract

Stopped flow kinetics were used for investigating the oxidation or reduction of various metalloporphyrins. The kinetics for oxidation of five different (p-X)TPPAg(II) complexes were measured using ceric sulfate as an oxidant while the kinetics for reduction of TPPMnCl and TPPFeCl were measured using ascorbic acid. Kinetics were also measured for oxidation of TPPCo(Il) using hydrogen peroxide. All of these reactions were carried out in DMSO and spectrophotometric monitoring was via a Tracor Northern Rapid Scanning Spectrophotometer. [...]
