dc.description.abstractIn this project, a fourth order finite difference modeling/migrati on program is implemented on the Floating Point Systems-5430. It is an in-core version that performs both two-dimensional and three-dimensional modeling or migration. Using all four processors of the FPS-5430, this implementation accomplishes parallel processing by having three processors simultaneously compute final results while the fourth one controls all synchronization activities.
