Abstract

The following collection of original short stories explores various aspects of character perception: how, through a particular and delegating view of his environment, a character determines the boundaries within which he will function; how such a perception of the world demands certain actions or inactions; and how a perception may negate the concept of consequence for the sake of maintaining the vision itself. It is my intention that these stories, by investigating this phenomenon, will illustrate the intrinsic tension and interplay between two traditionally polar concepts in literature: form and content.
