Abstract

This study analyzed a liberal arts college, Houston Baptist College, revealed its program classifications and structural design, and developed an analytical model for analysis in a planning-program-budgeting-system. It produced a computer program to simulate certain factors of the instructional program and utilized the computer model to simulate actual data and situations of the biology area to demonstrate the results of alternative variables. Three primary functions or programs of the college were presented: instruction, research, and public service. Supporting functions recognized included: learning resources, student services, operation and maintenance of physical plant, administration, and general institutional. The three primary and five supportive functions were recognized as program categories.
